The first Beissbarth-developed product
was launched in 1951. This was the “Nürburg” wheel balancing
machine.

On
May 7th, 1945, Germany’s unconditional surrender brought the slaughter
to an end. On his return from the army at the end of 1945, Osmond
Beissbarth obtained two military vehicles and permission from the
American military authorities to restore the ruined premises in Kohlstrasse.
As a temporary measure, parts of the ruin were rendered “operational”
and the company started to
do truck repairs. There was a lot to be done; mechanics were hired,
with Mr. Müller acting as Works Manager.
With Ludwig Erhard as Bavarian Minister for Economic Affairs, the
German Economic Miracle was beginning to get under way from 1946 onwards
– with breathtaking
speed.
From 1947 to 1948, a bombed-out workshop on the site was restored
for truck repairs and Mr. Müller assumed complete control of
this area. Beissbarth retained a stake in the new company, “Beissbarth
& Müller”, whose premises are now in Zamdorfer Strasse. |
